How to Reduce Neck Tension

Necks carry a lot of tension. This is not only due to working at a desk job, but also from texting on our cellphones, or looking at our iPods.

Avoid from keeping your neck in the same position for a long duration.

Here are a few tips to reduce neck tension.

1. Have the computer monitor high enough so that your eyes line up with the first line of text

2. The computer screen should not be too far from you, at most an arm’s length away to prevent straining of the neck.

3. When using cellphones or iPods, bring them to eye level to avoid prolonged awkward neck postures.
