Environmental Engineer

An engineer spends 90% of his time working at his computer, experiencing low back pain.

Ergonomic Risk Factor

A comprehensive ergonomic analysis of the engineer’s workstation was performed, and awkward posture was determined to be the issue contributing to low back pain. ¬†Specifically, the chair seat pan was longer than the engineer’s thigh length, preventing his buttocks from being able to be placed at the rear of the chair, and causing a flexed forward low back posture when seated. ¬†

Ergonomic Solutions

  • New ergonomic chair fitted to the engineer was provided.
  • Training on workstation setup was provided
  • Ergonomic Benefits

  • Worker is more comfortable on the job, and no longer complaining of low back pain.
