An engineer spends 90% of his time working at his computer, experiencing low back pain.

Ergonomic Risk Factor

A comprehensive ergonomic analysis of the engineer’s workstation was performed, and awkward posture was determined to be the issue contributing to low back pain. Specifically, the chair seat pan was longer than the engineer’s thigh length, preventing his buttocks from being able to be placed at the rear of the chair, and causing a flexed forward low back posture when seated.

Ergonomic Solutions

New ergonomic chair fitted to the engineer was provided.

Training on workstation setup was provided

Ergonomic Benefits

Worker is more comfortable on the job, and no longer complaining of low back pain.
